5 years of grind and hard work for Runaway Clothing has led up to them opening their flagship store in downtown Durham tomorrow afternoon. When I moved to Durham I reached out to Aaron Mandel of Clarion Content in an effort to meet new creative people in the city that was adopting me. Through contributing to Clarion Content, I met Justin Laidlaw who is now head of marketing and communications for the sprouting clothing line. Aaron also put me in touch with Runaway creative source and founder Gabe who helped me design a couple of logos in the past.
In 2014 I had a chance to sponsor and photograph the release of the company’s spring clothing line. It was an honor to capture the vibe that afternoon and it was everything I love about this city.
Grand Opening kicks off in-store Saturday morning at 11am until 9pm with the debut of the Spring 2016 collection. At 5pm, the party keeps rollin’ at Ninth Street Bakery.
