On March 26th we are having our first ever pop-up dinner. We have a few things that we hope to accomplish that will make this dinner a success in our eyes and here they are.
- Highlight – We hope to introduce Durty Bull Brewing to anyone who has not had their beer. To those who are already familiar with Durty Bull’s lineup we hope to highlight it by pairing it with our menu made specially for the evening
- Educate – Operating a food truck has been a constant learning experience for us. We always hoped that this business would give us the opportunity to raise the awareness of others and ourselves about Puerto Rican and Southern history, cuisine and their common links. This culinary experience has exceeded our expectations so far and we hope these dinners will be another outlet to share more dishes and ingredients that we might not have the bandwidth to shine light on in regular truck operation
- Eat, Drink and Be Merry – Most importantly we want the people in attendance to share in a good time over great food and drink. These should be social events where you link it with old friends and mingle with new ones as well.
With that all said, lets learn about the first course that will be served at the dinner

THE BEER – BRETT APPLE
The Brett Apple Ale is a collaboration between Durty Bull Brewing Company and Bull City Ciderworks. Don’t expect a sweet, artificial apple flavor like the commercially brewed brand with “Apple” in its name. This is a truly unique beer. We started with a simple Saison recipe consisting of spelt, oats and rye. Once the beer portion was finished, we blended it with 350 gallons of apple juice from our friends at Bull City Ciderworks. The concoction was then fermented with 100% Brettanomyces yeast resulting in a very dry, subtle apple flavored beer.
Next up we will talk about the food that accompany the Brett Apple in the first course.
